SES Lifetime Achievement Award-2012

The Society of Earth Scientists (SES) conferred ‘Lifetime Achievement Award-2012’ to Prof. V. K. Verma, Ex. Professor and Head, Department of Geology, University of Delhi, for his contributions in the Earth System Sciences at Nainital, Uttarakhand, during the Inaugural function of National Seminar on “Geology and Geo-resources of Himalaya and cratonic regions of India” organised by Department of Geology (Centre of Advanced Study in Geology), Kumaun University. The award was presented by veteran geoscientist Dr. M. Ramakrishnan, Ex-Deputy Director General, Geological Survey of India. Prof. Verma was also honoured by Prof. V.P.S. Arora, Vice-Chancellor, Kumaon University. During the occasion Dr. Satish C. Tripathi, General Secretary of SES said that awarding Prof. Verma is hoTnouring a generation of teachers who brought geosciences from its infancy to present day mature state in India.
